Built on Real Business Experience

We started AdvantaHyper because we kept seeing the same problem everywhere — businesses making financial decisions based on outdated assumptions or industry averages that didn't match their actual situation.

How We Actually Started

Back in 2018, I was consulting for a mid-sized manufacturing company in Tainan. They were convinced their operational costs were out of line because their CFO kept comparing them to published industry benchmarks from the US.

But when we dug into the actual numbers — not the sanitized averages you see in reports, but real data from similar companies in Taiwan — the picture was completely different. They weren't overspending. They were actually underinvesting in areas that could drive growth.

That's when it clicked. Most benchmark data is either too broad to be useful or comes from markets that don't reflect what's happening here in Taiwan. Businesses needed something more precise.

So we built it. Not the fancy dashboard everyone wanted to see, but the unglamorous work of collecting real budget data from real businesses and making sense of it in a way that actually helps with decision-making.

What Drives Our Work

01

Real Data Over Theory

We collect budget information from actual businesses, not theoretical models. When you're comparing costs, you want to know what companies like yours are really spending, not what textbooks say they should spend.

02

Local Context Matters

Operating costs in Taiwan aren't the same as Silicon Valley or London. We focus on building benchmarks that reflect the actual business environment where you operate.

03

Practical Application

Benchmark data is only useful if you can act on it. We present findings in ways that connect directly to budget decisions you're already making.

Who Actually Does This Work

Our approach comes from people who've spent years working with business budgets in different industries. Not theoretical expertise — practical experience with the messy realities of financial planning.

Lead Financial Analyst & Founder

Dimitri moved to Taiwan in 2015 after working in corporate finance across three different industries in Germany. What struck him most was how different the actual operating costs were from what international consulting reports suggested they should be.

He spent the next few years collecting budget data from manufacturing, service, and tech companies across Taiwan. Not for academic research, but because he kept running into businesses making expensive decisions based on irrelevant benchmark data.

Focus Areas

Operational cost analysis, industry-specific benchmarking, and budget variance analysis for mid-market companies. Has worked directly with over 200 businesses to understand their actual cost structures.

How We Actually Build Benchmarks

Most benchmarking services rely on publicly available data or surveys. We take a different approach because we've seen how unreliable those sources can be for making real decisions.

01

Direct Data Collection

We work directly with businesses to understand their actual cost structures. This means going beyond what gets reported publicly and looking at the real numbers.

Confidential Partnerships

Partner companies share anonymized budget data in exchange for industry insights. Everyone benefits from better benchmarks.

Quarterly Updates

Budget data changes, especially in volatile markets. We refresh our benchmarks every quarter with new information.

02

Context-Specific Analysis

We don't just collect numbers — we understand the business context behind them. A software company's R&D spending looks different from a manufacturer's, even in the same market.

Industry Segmentation

Break down costs by industry, company size, and business model to ensure relevant comparisons.

Regional Factors

Account for local market conditions, regulatory requirements, and operational differences specific to Taiwan.

03

Actionable Insights

Raw benchmark data isn't useful on its own. We focus on presenting insights that connect directly to budget decisions you're making.

Decision-Ready Format

Present findings in formats that work with your existing budgeting process and timeline.

Variance Analysis

Identify which cost differences matter for your business and which ones are just statistical noise.

04

Ongoing Refinement

Benchmarking isn't a one-time exercise. Business conditions change, and your cost structure evolves. We maintain ongoing relationships to keep insights current.

Detailed financial analysis and benchmarking process documentation

Continuous Monitoring

Track how your costs compare to benchmarks over time and identify trends that might affect future budgets.
